Location:
The temple is situated in Kudavasal, which is about 20 kms away from Kumbakonam while traveling via Kumbakonam - Thiruvaroor. The temple is 1 Km away from Kudamurutti River. The temple is said to be more than 400 years old.
The Deities:
The Moolavar of this kshetram is Sri Srinivasar, who is found in Nindra thirukkolam facing His thirumugha mandalam towards north direction. The speciality is that He is facing towards north direction, which is said to be the direction of Guberan. So, bhakthas who seek wealth, can visit this sthalam. He is found along with Sri Devi and Bhooma Devi.
Sthalapuranam:
Sri Srinivasar is called as "Kali Yuga Varadhan". He is giving His dharshan in Tirumala - Tirupathi for so many crores of Bhakthas. As a younger brother (a form) of Tirumalai - Sri Srinivasar, the Perumal is giving His seva in this temple.
The Perumal is found to give His seva facing His thirumugam towards North direction. The north direction is said to be the Vaasal (entrance) of Guberan. Since, Guberan wanted to get the dharshan of the Perumal daily, he requested the Perumal to fulfill His requirement. Sriman Narayanan answered that His wish will be fulfilled in Kali yugam.
As so many decades passed, Sri Krishna Devarayar, who wished that the Hindu religion should be spread across, passed by this Kudavasal. He found this place very beautiful and at once thought it will be great if a temple is raised for the Perumal. He discussed with various Vedic Pundits and as suggested by them first he started to construct a Pushkarani.
Before the start day of the construction, Tirupathi - Tirumalai - Sri Srinivasa Perumal came in the dream of a Vaishnavar during whic He stated that His Divya Mangala Vighraham will be found on the Esanya Moolai (a part in the constrction land).
Swami also added without making any damage to the Vighraham, they have to take it and to make the sand smooth, they can pour milk. He also said the Perumal to be faced towards north direction; and he is considered as the brother (younger) of Tirumalai - Sri Srinivasar and elder brother of Sri Oppiliappan and will be considered as the great Prarthanai (fulfilling) Sthalam.
The Vaishnavar who came out from the dream, informed about this to the king and he at once ordered to start digging the corner as Perumal said. They poured lots and lots of milk on the land to make is soft and finally they got the Divya Mangala Vighraham of Sri Srinivasa Perumal and constructed a temple for him.
Various utsavams:
Every week Thirumanjanam for Sri Srinivasar - Moolavar is done on Friday. Bhakthas who cannot get the Thiru Manjana seva in Tirumalai - Tirupathi which is done on Friday, can visit this Sthalam and get the Thirumanjanai seva of Sri Srinivasar of Kudavasal, as he is considered as the brother of Tirumalai - Srinivasar.
Nethra Dharshan:
Every week on Thursday, the Perumal shows Nethra (eye) dharshan seva.
Thiruvona Nakshtram:
The thiru Nakshtram of Sri Srinivasar is Thiruvonam. During this day, Sravana Deepam (ghee Deepam) is litted in the sannadhi. Sri Yoga Narasimhar, Sri Lakshmi Narasimhar, Sri Hayagreevar, Sri Anjaneyar, Sri Garudan, the great Alwars are also found in this temple.

5.00 pm to 8.00 pm
Night 8.30 pm - Ekantha sevai.
It is said that Bhakthas who seek for good kids can lit Deepam for Sri Garudalwar on Sundays to get a good child.
