Sri Sudharsana Homam is considered to one among the greatest and sacred homams. Gajendran seeked the help of Sriman Narayanan. It is the duty of the great god to help his bhaktas irrespective of the caste, religion, thing etc. At once, he came along with Sudharsana Alwar on top of Garudan. Sriman Narayanan provoked the Chakkaram on the crocodile, killed it and thereby rescued the elephant. This action clearly explains the greatness of Chakkarathalwar and how helpful he is towards his bhaktas.
So, Sudharsana Alwar is considered to be chief amongst the Panja Aayudham of Sriman Narayanan. It is also said that if we go daily to the Sannadhi of Chakkarathalwar, we will be freed from our sins and can attain a great level in our lives.
