Chandana Yatra : The deity in this sthalam is overcovered with a thick coating of sandal paste, which is said to have quiet down the anger of the Lord after the devastation of Hiranyakasipu. This coating is removed only once a year, on the third day of the Sukla paksham of Visakham (in May). And this day is considered to be specially sacred, and people from all over the country visit the shrine to have Darshan of the Lord on this day.
Other that this great utsavam, the Vyasa Pournami and the Ashadha Pournami days, and the Kalyanotsava in the first week of April are the other important utsavams done in this Kshetram.
Sri Narasimha Jayanti : The Narasimha Jayanti utsavam is done on the Fourteenth day of the first half of month of Visakam and is celebrated as the Birthday of the Lord.
Giri Pradhakshanam : "Giri" means Mountain. Going round the mountain and then woshipping the Lord is termed as "Giri Pradhakshanam". It is generally done on the full moon day in the month of June. Almost all the Bhaktas follow this Pradhakshanam to get the complete blessings of the Perumal. It is also sais that those who cannot perform this Giri Pradhakshana, can go around the templee for 108 times and it is also said to give the same credit of the Giri Pradhakshanam.
