ஸ்ரீ லட்சுமி செல்வம், அதிர்ஷ்டம் மற்றும் செழிப்பு ஆகியவற்றை அளிப்பவள். ஸ்ரீ விஷ்ணுவின் தர்மபத்னி ஆவாள். பாற்கடலை கடையும்போது அதிலிருந்து தோன்றியவள்.
