It is said the chief amongst Dhaanam (offering (or) giving) is Anna Dhaanam. And by giving Anna Dhaanam (food), we are fulfilling ones needs. All of the Jeeva Raasis starve for this food only. The presiding Lakshmi for food is Sri Dhanya Lakshmi.
For a country to grow, how wealth is needed, the Agriculture and Vegetation should also flourish. If there is proper vegetation in a country, the company grows to a great level.
Sri Dhanya Lakshmi blesses us with good food and is Sri Ashta Lakshmi, for all jeeva raasis to live, the grace of this world earns money only to lead his life in peace and for food.
A small Mahabharata story:
Once, during Pandavas along with Draupathi were in the forest (Vana vaasam), Sri Krishnar gave them a Amudha Surabhi vessel for getting them the food. If its scrached, it will give food but it will give food for only once a day. Using the vessel the Pandavas got the food daily.
One day, all of them finished the food; Durvasa Muni came to their place. He is famour for his angry. Muni asked for food to the Pandavas. And he said that he'd have his bath and return asked Draupathi to prepare food in the Meantime. She was helpless and stood in silence without knowing what to do.
During that time, Sri Krishnar came there and understood the problem of Draupathi. Then, he also said that he is also hungry and asked food. On hearing this, Draupathi really felt very bad and said that all of them have finished the food that's given by the vessel and it would give the food only the next day.
But, Sri Krishnar asked her to get the vessel. And there was one small piece of food found in that vessel. Sri Krishnar took that food with lots of love. He said that now his stomach is full after eating. And Duruvasa Muni also felt that his stomach was filled up with food.
Even though, Sri Krishnar performed this act, it happened only because of Sri Lakshmi (Dhanya) who resides on the Thiru Maarbhu of Sriman Naryanan.
Green is the colour of vegetation. Sriman Narayanan also has the name "Pacchai Maal" (Pacchai - Green). Along with him, Sri Lakshmi makes the earth green in colour (with proper vegetation). By taking good food, we get good Aarogyam (health). So, with the grace of Sri Dhanyalakshmi, we are blessed with food and also with good health.
